John and Marlena talk at her place; he instinctively finds the matches, unsettling them both. On the pier, Shane confronts Victor about Stockholm. Victor taunts him about Kim and the baby until Shane snaps and pins him by the throat. Kim arrives just as Victor’s bodyguard draws a gun; she screams, Shane spins and shoots the guard in the hand. Victor warns that if the baby is his, he’ll take it. Shane vows Kim will keep her child no matter what. Liz struggles with grief and guilt, while Savannah admits to herself she caused Tod’s drunkenness. Chris ends things with her. At the guest house, Kim tells Shane she knows Victor is using her to hurt Caroline and insists the baby is his. Marlena asks John about children; Carrie later panics seeing him in the house. John worries she’s right to fear him and tells Marlena to stay away, but she refuses—she’s already too involved.
