Hope visits Patch in jail, where he teases her about Bo’s past and plays a harmonica “ballad” about himself, Bo, and Britta. Bo arrives, furious, and later admits to Hope that Patch’s story is true — he put out Patch’s eye after finding him in bed with Britta. Shane and Peachy confront Nickerson in Washington; before they can act, Nickerson destroys Victor’s incriminating book and kills himself. Victor pressures Savannah to work for him, while Savannah and Chris have a tense encounter. Kimberly is sick, and Caroline fusses over her, unsure it’s really the flu. Marlena comforts Chris on the pier and reflects on the year since Roman’s death. Shane returns to find Kimberly still ill and tells her Victor is now free. Meanwhile, Petrov and the bandaged pawn arrive in Salem under Nurse Honeycutt’s care. Bo warns Patch to stay away from Hope, and Patch tries to bargain for his release, hinting at secrets about Roman — but Bo refuses.
