A 17-year-old is sent to the circus as a punishment after getting into trouble with the police, and tries to perfect the knife-throwing act made famous by his father. An eight-year-old makes his debut as a clown alongside his dad, although there's bad news - he may soon have to leave the big top to attend school. Meanwhile, another youngster works behind the scenes at his family's 200-year-old travelling circus.
