In May 1988, Brenda DuPont's brutal murder in Opelousas, Louisiana, left detectives stumped. DNA evidence was gathered, but the case went cold. Nearly 30 years later, CODIS matched the DNA, leading to Joenell Rubin's 2016 conviction.
