A shrill whistle in the forest, the origin of which cannot be determined, makes the blood of the lonely traveler through the backlands of Brazil run cold in his veins! Objects that disappear without a trace! Exhausted horses with braided manes first thing in the morning! Noises in the woods, the sound of laughter and more pranks and scares played on the unwary! It's Saci! Who is this mythical creature, who can be so dangerous and terrifying, as well as so amusing and irreverent that he has become a character in children's stories? And not only that! It got its own day! It falls exactly on American Halloween, to remind us that in Brazil, we have our own myths! And they're not half bad compared to the gringos! In today's Scicast we're going to find out about the possible origins of this Brazilian folk myth!
