Ju-ryun discovers that Tae-chang is in debt to Sun-ae and, feeling compelled to help, approaches Sun-ae to plead on his behalf. At the same time, drunk and overwhelmed, Ju-ryun goes to Seol-ah, expressing her frustrations and begging her to show some mercy to her family. In response, Seol-ah hands back the diamond ring to her.
