Brian shoots Jaime when the latter and Cynthia have cornered Esperanza and Anton. Esperanza grants Brian forgiveness while he's in prison. Cynthia receives her punishment for killing Cecille. Esperanza and Danilo visit their adoptive families before leaving the country. Anton decides to stay for a while in the Philippines. The Salgado family finally achieves their well-deserved peace, even though Cecille is gone.
