Miggy and Julio launch a television advertising campaign for their new company. The project quickly attracts the attention of the Moon’s wealthy elite—especially Mr. Spruts—most of whom make their fortunes producing artificial food. Fearing competition from the giant plants, they conspire to prevent the collection of the seeds from the lunar surface. Spruts bribes Miggy and Julio with half a million fertings and, together with other rich industrialists, raises another three billion to destroy the rocket containing the seeds on the Moon’s surface. Meanwhile, the owner of a tobacco factory, Scuperfield, refuses to contribute to the fund, so Spruts orders his assistant, Krabs, to “deal with” him.
