After the main suspect in the "Suginami Case" dies, the investigation is closed, but Section 4 suspects an accomplice is still at large. Rookie detective Izumi Sakuragi disappears while conducting her own investigation, and the team receives a call from a man who claims to be the real killer. He demands that the case be reopened in exchange for Izumi's release. With the man's voiceprint matching the suspected accomplice, the team races to find Izumi before the police press conference.
