Stockholm 1935. Restaurant owner Kurt Haijby goes to the king to obtain the inaccessible alcohol permit. The meeting with king Gustav V takes an unexpected turn and soon transform into a completely different relationship. Kurt's wife, Anna Haijby, struggles at the restaurant and wonder why her husband is gone during the nights.
