Dayan is cranky, he has rather intimate medical problems. In bad faith, he accuses Esther of having badly advised him in the management of Ariane's transfer. The latter pointed out to him that he was under no obligation to follow her recommendations. Ariane may have awakened in him an old wound, which goes beyond the simple issue of desire and adultery.
