The Consolidated Aviation Regiment was relocated to the immediate vicinity of the mysterious square. An awkwardness arises between Lydia and Boris - they do not know how to take the next step. A relationship of light flirting is established between Eugenia and Bes. A group of eight fighters is sent to the mysterious square, where ten "Messers" fly to them, and the battle begins. Martynov's burning plane crashes into the ground. Lydia commands everyone to get out of the battle and go to her airfield.
