Kane is hired to protect a diamond studded crown that a beauty queen will wear at a ball sponsored by a cosmetics company in Bermuda. The lovely blonde is found dead in her hotel bathtub and there's no shortage of murder suspects - her ex-boyfriend, the wealthy playboy she spurned on the ocean liner, and the wife of the man with whom she engaged in romantic trysts back in New York.
