A tax collector named Walter Sullivan disappears in Montana, and a week later, his corpse is found at a bottom of a cliff. Forensic evidence discloses that Sullivan was brutally murdered, and the case grows cold over the next five years. Later, psychic Noreen Renier is assigned to help police find Sullivan's killer.
