Laura decides it's time to tell Paz the whole truth about her grandfather. In this conversation, Laura mentions that Victoria confessed that Carlos is not her grandfather Domingo's son, but rather the son of an actor named Igor Navarro, who abandoned her upon discovering she was pregnant. Therefore, Carlos is not a true Ruiz-Tagle, although Victoria explains that Domingo adopted him as one of his sons and that they made a pact that he would never discover the truth. Carlos also talks to Remigio about what happened the previous night in Talca, when Mariana rejected him. It is in this situation that Remigio suggests that perhaps Mariana rejected him for other reasons, and not because she was tired.
