Game of Thrones Season 8 Premiere Date Pushed Back?
Published: August 21, 2017
Game of Thrones Season 7 is ending next week. The dramatic end to episode 6 definitely had people talking thanks to a leak. We have learned from multiple sources that the finale season for Game of Thrones could be pushed back as far as early 2019.
During an interview with Collider where Nikolaj Coster-Waldau(Jamie Lannister) is promoting his new film, the star has dropped that the cast and crew is expected to return to set sometime in October to begin production on the final season.
What this means is that the show could potentially be premiering later than usual.
Season 7 broke the trend and began airing in July instead of the usual April. Filming usually began summer and wrapping up by the end of the year. With Winter already here, the show had pushed further into the year for the weather to adapt.
With 6 episodes, the show is rumored to potentially set each episode well into the 75-90 minute range. We have seen this with episode 6 of season 7 clocking in at 71 minutes and the finale set to be over 80 minutes long.
David Benioff and DB Weiss always finds a way to out do the previous seasons and they say fans can expect more carnage, fire and fury for the finale.
