Episode starts with picturesque views of the village including the Ganpati mandir. Later, a defeated looking woman is cooking as her youngest daughter sits quietly watching her. Two boys come running in and ask Aai if the food is ready as they are hungry. Aai quietly gives them dry food before putting her daughter to sleep with a marathi lullaby. Later… During the days three girls and a little boy are shown riding two bulls when one of the girls [Amoli] falls off. The other three follow and all four laugh. Tani [the youngest] runs of to a chicken hut and tries to steal an egg. Kaka – the farmer notices her and yells at her just as the chickens escape. Amoli, Kaumodi and the boy do their best to round up the chickens just as Kaka arrives and scolds the kids. He tells them that he will take the money from their father. The kids run of and Amoli scolds Tani and tells her that the next time she wishes to eat an egg she should just drink a glass of hot water. In the fields, Tukaram comes to his Beturam and tells him that Biaza is not opening her door. They hurry to the house to find it locked and Beturam expresses his concern over how in the past year every house has seen a funeral at least once. Tukaram assures him that everything will be ok; besides there has been good rain today and he is sure that they will get plenty to eat. Amoli and Tani run home where Aai scolds them for being late and tells them to wash up for dinner. Tani starts to leave but Aai stops her and says that it's not her turn to eat today but Amoli's. Tani is upset and says that she is hungry today as well. Aai replies that she can wait until tomorrow and leaves. Amoli shares her food with Tani – Aai sees this and heads to the storage where the raw crops are kept. She starts opening up a packet when Baba comes and stops her, and reminds her that this belongs to Thakur and if he notices even a little missing then she knows very well what will happen.
