Leina battles Liliana in a Sacred Duel which is disrupted by the Swamp Witch. Leina is captured and tortured into almost hopelessness. Liliana is angry at the Swamp Witch's interference in the Sacred Duel and gives Leina the means to fight back. Leina succeeds and manages to free herself but she is now cursed to sleep during the day. This explains her appearance in Queen's Blade Rebellion (Season 3) and why she can't help her people more.
